Resource Alert!!

Unfortunately, work stress is something that many of us experience. Several factors can contribute to work stress, including low pay, long hours, stressful environment, conflict with other employees, and the list goes on. An often overlooked contributing factor is poor fit. When your job is "just a job" and doesn't bring much satisfaction or purpose, there can be detrimental effects on your mental health. For those of you who experiencing job stress and are looking for a career change, www.onetonline.org is a great starting point! During my first master's program I was introduced to the website, and it has been a go to resource for me ever since. On the site you can take a career inventory that is loosely based on the Myers-Briggs personality types you all seem to love putting on your dating profiles. Using your "style" to find a better job fit might eliminate some of your work stress. Additionally, the site allows you to search for an occupation and find out what skills are needed, what level of education is needed, and what the projected growth is for that occupation. You can also find out what the average salary is for that position in your area. It's worth a look!
